And let's be very Honest, None of our government based Universities and Colleges have what it takes to be Internationally recognized, deplorable quality couple with narrow mindedness, lack of exposure and race based education!
KUALA LUMPUR: School-leavers have been advised to obtain globally-recognised educational qualifications to prepare for future challenges.
"It is important for students to identify the best institution for them before they make their decision to enrol," the organising chairman of the 30th Facon Education Fair, Tan Sri Dr Yahaya Ibrahim, said yesterday. Representatives of more than 800 globally-recognised local and international institutions of higher learning were present at the two-day fair which opened at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre yesterday.
Yahaya said that an education fair like Facon was able to bring almost all the reputable colleges and universities under one roof for the students to get a brief introduction to them before they made any decision.
He said secondary school managements should encourage their students to make a visit to the fair before they left school. The fair will also be held in Kuching today, Sibu (tomorrow), Alor Star (Tuesday), Penang (Wednesday) Ipoh (Thurday) Malacca and Sandakan (Friday), Johor Baru (March 19 and 20) Kota Kinabalu (March 19) and Tawau (March 20).
Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Dr Hou Kok Chung, who opened the fair, said the ministry was happy with the initiative to bring higher learning institutions under one roof."We have always encouraged this kind of activity as our students will benefit. This will help parents make a fair comparison between universities here," he said. Last year, the Facon Education Fair attracted more than 90,000 visitors. The organising committee is expecting the number to reach 100,000 this year.
