"I love the rumor that I have a penis. I'm fascinated by it. In fact, it makes me love my fans even more that this rumor is in the world because 17,000 of them come to an arena every night and they don't care if i'm a man, a woman, a hermaphrodite, gay, straight, transgendered, or transsexual. They don't care! They are there for the music and the freedom. This has been the greatest accomplishment of my life- to get young people to throw away what society has taught them is wrong. Gay culture is at the very essence of who I am and I will fight for women and for the gay community until I die."
On The "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Military Law
Another subject Gaga addressed was the "don't ask, don't tell" law that forces gay men and women serving in the military to stay closeted. "I hope so," she said when King asked her whether she thinks the law will be repealed. "There's so many archaic things floating around in the government right now that are so misinformed and so wrong. It's very confusing for young people."

On Her Lupus Diagnosis
"Lupus is in my family and it's genetic, and it's funny 'cause my mother told me the other day that my fans were quite worried about me because I did talk about the fact that I was tested for lupus," she tells King in an excerpt of the interview available online." And the truth is I don't show any signs, any symptoms of lupus, but I have tested borderline positive for the disease. So as of right now, I don't have it. But I do have to take good care of myself," the singer told King.
On Her Opening Show for MJ
During the chat, Gaga also addressed rumors that she was scheduled to collaborate with Michael Jackson before his sudden death last June. "You know, it's always very difficult because I don't necessarily like to talk about those very personal things that happened," she said. "I guess I can speak about it now. I was actually asked to open for Michael on his tour. We were going to open for him at the O2.
"And we were working on making it happen. And I suppose there was some talk about the openers doing some duets with Michael onstage. But Michael's death was devastating for me regardless of whether I was supposed to go on tour with him," she continued. "He's such an inspiration and remarkable human being. I guess ... some of my fascination with death and the demise of the celebrity goes along with me watching these hugely iconic and amazing people that I have heralded and admired become destroyed, whether self-destroyed or destroyed by the media."
On Her Upcoming Album
"Well, my next album -- it will not be coming out this Christmas, which I don't know if I was supposed to tell you, but I will tell you so my fans don't crucify me later," Gaga told King. "But I wanted to give it some time, because even though it's finished, I really want to give my fans what they deserve, which is for me to promote and travel the world and give the new music to them in the most perfect and accessible way that I can."
